About Us

The capital of the northern island and prefecture of Hokkaido and the fifth-largest city in Japan, Sapporo gained international prominence when it was chosen to host the 1972 Winter Olympic Games. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength, and not only in the sports field or because of its breweries.

When it comes to business events indeed, Sapporo has many assets up its sleeves, starting with a wealth of knowledge in many areas of endeavors, as well as all the facilities you can expect in a fast-growing environment (not to mention its big nature).

Part of the Sapporo International Communication Plaza Foundation, Sapporo Convention Bureau is responsible for shaping and retaining Sapporo’s reputation as a premier business events destination.

We are committed to the development and support of Sapporo’s creative and innovative environment through collaboration with local academia and business sectors, with special attention to the broader growth and societal agendas of our community.
